Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Histopathologically confirmed nasopharyngeal carcinoma
  • No evidence of distant metastasis (M0)
  • Scheduled to receive radical radiotherapy
  • Karnofsky scale (KPS) > 70
  • Age 18-70 years
  • Able to perform oral rinsing independently without difficulty swallowing
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Receiving non-platinum-based concurrent chemotherapy regimens
  • Radiation fields including level Ib lymph nodes
  • History of pre-existing oral mucosal disorders or recurrent oral ulcers
  • Prior radiotherapy treatment
  • Severe other illnesses
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
