Age: 18Years +
All Genders

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults aged 18 years or older
  • Undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgeries such as sleeve gastrectomy or mini gastric bypass
  • Body mass index (BMI) between 35 and 60
  • Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status II, either male or female
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Severe pre-existing lung disease
  • Low oxygen levels (SpO2 less than 92%) on room air before surgery
  • History of barotrauma
  • Previous pneumothorax
  • Known lung bullae or emphysematous blebs
