Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • 65 years of age or older
  • Mayo type II olecranon fracture
  • Able to walk, with or without walking aids
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Additional injuries to the affected or opposite arm
  • Nerve injury related to the arm
  • Dementia or cognitive impairment preventing outcome measurements
  • Expected difficulty maintaining follow-up (e.g., no fixed address, not mentally competent, lack of support)
  • Injury or previous deficit to the opposite arm
  • Currently participating in other research involving drugs or medical devices
  • Open fractures
  • Unable to provide informed consent
