Supportive Care Program for Mothers of Children with Moderate to Severe Mental Disabilities Using Art Therapy and Expression Workshops

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to support mothers caring for children with moderate to severe mental disabilities, including conditions such as hearing, visual, physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and emotional or behavioral disorders. The study evaluates artistic activities designed to reduce the mental burden and improve the psychological well-being of these caregivers. It uses a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design to assess the impact of these activities over time. Participants will be involved in various art therapy sessions such as wood painting, lithography, jewelry design, mud free shaping, and expression workshops. These artistic and training activities will be carried out over a total of 12 weeks. Before and after this period, psychological well-being and caregiver burden will be assessed using several validated scales and questionnaires. Mothers will complete questionnaires covering descriptive characteristics and psychological well-being, including the Psychological Well-being Scales, Caregiver Burden Scale, Emotion Expression Scale, and Stress Coping Styles Scale. Data analysis will determine changes in mental well-being and caregiver burden before and after the intervention. The studys primary outcome is to increase mental well-being, measured seven weeks after starting the activities, with monitoring conducted throughout the 12-week program.
