Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Male and female subjects aged 18 to 60 years with a clinical diagnosis of asthma
- Smoking history of 1 pack/year or less
- Able to understand study procedures and willing to sign informed consent
- Judged to be in stable health based on medical history
- Able to perform reproducible pulmonary function tests with consistent FEV1 measurements
- FEV1 greater than 60% predicted
You will not qualify if you...
- Mentally or legally incapacitated patients who cannot give informed consent or understand study materials
- Unable to perform spirometry or plethysmography tests
- Presence of implanted mechanical, electrical, or magnetic devices or metal in the body that cannot be removed
- Physical, psychological, or other conditions that prevent MRI performance, including severe claustrophobia
- Pregnant patients
