Structured Personalized Oxygen and Supportive Therapies for Dyspnea in Oncology
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of cancer
- Age 18 or older
- Admitted to a medical floor
- Dyspnea intensity at rest of at least 4 on a 0-10-point scale
- Speak English or Spanish
You will not qualify if you...
- Hemodynamic instability requiring active Merit Team or ICU involvement
- Delirium as assessed by clinical team in Electronic Health Record
- Severe hypoxemia (SpO2 < 90%) despite supplemental oxygen up to 6 L/min
- Continuous positive airway pressure use for obstructive sleep apnea >10 hours daily
- Respiratory failure needing mechanical ventilation or planned thoracentesis within 72 hours
- Known pregnancy
