Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients who started acetylcholinesterase inhibitor treatment at least 2 months before the trial and can keep the dose stable during the trial
- Male or female aged 60 to 85 years
- Diagnosed with mild Alzheimer's Disease according to NIA-AA (2011) criteria
- Dementia confirmed to be due to Alzheimer's disease by amyloid PET-CT
- Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score between 21 and 26
- Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) of 1 or Global Deterioration Scale (GDS) of 3
- Physically eligible based on medical records and physical exam
- Unable to provide voluntary consent due to impaired decision-making, with legally authorized representative providing consent and caregiver available for follow-ups
- Agreed to participate in the full 24-week clinical trial
- Normal ability to see and hear letters
- Korean as mother tongue
You will not qualify if you...
- Central nervous system disorders affecting cognition or suspected non-Alzheimer's dementia (e.g., vascular dementia, brain tumors, infections, Parkinson's disease)
- History of unconsciousness from brain surgery or concussion, or signs of increased cranial pressure
- History of epileptic seizures or epilepsy
- Drug or alcohol abuse within past 5 years
- Diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, psychosis, panic disorder, PTSD, severe anxiety, mental retardation, or DSM-V disorders
- Abnormal vitamin B12, folic acid, or thyroid stimulating hormone tests affecting dementia
- Metal implants in the head (except specified exceptions)
- Cardiac pacemakers, implanted medication pumps, or intracardiac lines
- Taking medications that lower seizure threshold
- Significant heart disease
- Severe kidney or liver impairment affecting daily life
- Contraindications for MRI or amyloid PET-CT scans
- Refusal of TMS treatment or trial participation
- Participation in other clinical trials within past 3 months (non-interventional studies allowed)
- History of TMS treatment within last 2 years
- History of malignant tumors within last 5 years unless cured without recurrence
- Use of contraindicated medications during the trial
- Investigator judgment of unsuitability for trial participation
