Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • At least 16 years of age at screening
  • Receptive anal or vaginal sex in the past 6 months
  • Condomless receptive sex with one or more partners of unknown HIV status in the past 6 months
  • Diagnosis of syphilis, gonorrhea, or chlamydia in the past 6 months if anal sex was engaged in
  • Diagnosis of syphilis or gonorrhea in the past 6 months if vaginal sex was engaged in
  • Sex with partner known to be living with HIV with unknown or detectable viral load in the past 6 months
  • Negative local rapid fourth generation HIV-1/2 antibody/antigen test, central fourth generation HIV-1/2 antibody/antigen, and HIV-1 RNA quantitative nucleic acid amplification testing at screening
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Current signs or symptoms suggesting HIV infection
  • Acute viral hepatitis A, B, or C or evidence of chronic hepatitis B or C infection
  • Severe liver impairment or history/current clinical decompensated liver cirrhosis
  • Past or current participation in HIV vaccine or broadly neutralizing antibody study unless documented placebo receipt
  • Prior use of oral lenacapavir in the past 90 days or subcutaneous lenacapavir in the past 18 months
  • Other protocol defined exclusion criteria may apply

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial.

Treatment

Duration - Approximately 52 weeks

Participants receive Lenacapavir as a once-yearly intramuscular injection along with oral doses for HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).

1 injection visit and additional oral dosing on Days 1 and 2

Treatment

Duration - Approximately 52 weeks

Participants in the Extension Phase receive a second Lenacapavir injection approximately one year after the initial dose, with oral doses if injections are unavailable.

1 injection visit

Follow-up

Duration - Up to 52 weeks

Participants who do not receive additional injections continue pharmacokinetic monitoring for up to 52 weeks after their last dose.
