Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Have type 2 diabetes
- Have an HbA1c between 7.5% and 10.5% at screening
- Have been treated for at least 3 months with diet and exercise, a stable dose of metformin, or sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor
- Have had a stable body weight with less than 5% gain or loss for 3 months prior to screening
- Have a body mass index (BMI) of 27 or greater at screening
You will not qualify if you...
- Have any form of diabetes other than type 2 diabetes
- Have had or plan to have surgical treatment for obesity except liposuction or abdominoplasty done more than 1 year before screening
- Have had acute myocardial infarction, stroke, unstable angina, or hospitalization for heart failure within 3 months prior to screening
- Have active or untreated cancer or cancer remission less than 5 years, except certain skin and in situ cancers
- Have used amylin receptor agonists, GLP-1 receptor agonists, or related drugs within 6 months
- Have used excluded antihyperglycemic medications like sulfonylureas or meglitinides within 3 months
- Have used insulin for diabetes control within the past year, except short-term use in special cases
