A Pilot Study Comparing Spatially Fractionated Radiation Therapy to Standard Radiation for Patients With Soft Tissue Metastases from Solid Tumors

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating whether lattice radiation therapy LRT is an effective radiation treatment compared to standard stereotactic body radiation therapy SBRT for patients with metastatic solid tumors that have spread to soft tissue outside the brain. The study also examines how these radiation techniques affect immune cells ability to attack tumor cells, called immune infiltration. Participants with metastatic solid tumors and measurable disease at two or more extracranial sites will receive palliative radiotherapy using external beam ionizing radiation following standard practice. If additional sites require treatment, standard SBRT may be used per guidelines. This is an interventional study conducted by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During the study, participants will be monitored for overall response rate at 12 weeks from baseline. Researchers will assess tumor response and immune effects. Participants will undergo clinical evaluations and follow study procedures, including radiation treatments and safety monitoring. The study started in July 2023 and will continue until July 2026.
