Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) at screening of 30 kg/m2 or higher OR at least 27 kg/m2 with one of the following conditions: high blood pressure, abnormal lipid levels, obstructive sleep apnea, or heart disease
- Have at least one unsuccessful attempt to lose weight by dieting
You will not qualify if you...
- Have had a change in body weight greater than 5 kilograms (11 pounds) within 90 days before screening
- Have had or plan to have surgical treatment for obesity
- Have type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes
- Have a family or personal history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2
- Have had a heart attack, stroke, or hospitalization for unstable angina or heart failure within 90 days before screening
- Have New York Heart Association Functional Classification Class IV congestive heart failure
- Have a history of chronic or acute pancreatitis
- Have taken weight loss drugs, including over-the-counter medications, within 90 days before screening
