What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying scalp health and hair care treatments in Chinese male patients aged 18 to 55 who have undergone hair transplantation, focusing on those with mild-to-moderate scalp seborrheic dermatitis SD. The study compares clinical, physiological, biological, and microecological changes related to SD and scalp health between groups using a test shampoo regimen and a basic shampoo, also investigating impacts on hair transplant complications and hair growth. An additional group of non-SD participants provides reference data for scalp condition after transplantation. Participants are divided into three groups those with SD using the test shampoo plus basic shampoo, those with SD using only basic shampoo, and non-SD participants using basic shampoo alone. The shampoo regimen occurs across three stages a pretreatment stage with test shampoo A used three times weekly for 14 days before enrollment a first test stage using test shampoo B three times weekly from day 7 to day 28 and a long-term follow-up stage from day 28 to month 9 with test shampoo A once weekly plus basic shampoo twice weekly. Basic shampoo use is consistent throughout all stages. Participants undergo multiple assessments including scalp seborrheic dermatitis grading, alopecia grading, and measurements of scalp sebum content, moisture, and transepidermal water loss at baseline and several points up to 9 months. Additional evaluations include questionnaires on symptoms, product use, wound healing, satisfaction, quality of life, and photography with dermoscopy imaging. Compliance is monitored, and safety and efficacy of the test shampoo are evaluated over the study duration, which lasts up to 9 months after enrollment.
