Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosed with cancer (any type or stage) within the last 5 years
- Age 18 years or older
- Of Chinese descent
- Speaks Mandarin well or very well
- Has moderately low health-related quality of life (FACT-G score below 70)
- Lives in New York or New Jersey
- Agrees to participate via telehealth (phone or video call)
- Agrees to be audio-recorded
You will not qualify if you...
- Requires higher level of care due to suicidal thoughts as determined by study team
- Too ill to participate because of communication problems, severe pain, or other symptoms
- Has cognitive impairment with a Montreal Cognitive Assessment score below 12
- Unable to understand the informed consent process
- Participating in study #14-076 for meaning-centered psychotherapy adaptation
- Has received psychotherapy, counseling, or peer support in the last 6 months (except psychotropic medication only)
