Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: have had type 2 diabetes for at least one year
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: be insulin naive
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: have HbA1c between 7.5% and 10% at screening
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: have a body mass index (BMI) of 23 kg/m2 or higher
- For participants with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes: have a BMI of 30 kg/m2 or higher, or a BMI of at least 27 kg/m2 with at least one weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, lipid disorder, obstructive sleep apnea, or heart disease
You will not qualify if you...
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: have type 1 diabetes
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: have had a heart attack, stroke, or hospitalization due to heart failure within 6 months prior to screening
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: have New York Heart Association Functional Classification Class III or IV congestive heart failure
- For participants with type 2 diabetes: have morbid obesity and are considered for bariatric surgery or other weight loss procedures
- For participants with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes: have type 1 or type 2 diabetes
- For participants with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes: have had a change in body weight greater than 5 kilograms within 3 months prior to screening
- For participants with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes: have had or plan to have surgical treatment for obesity
- For participants with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes: have had a heart attack, stroke, or hospitalization due to heart failure within 6 months prior to screening
- For participants with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes: have New York Heart Association Functional Classification Class III or IV congestive heart failure
- For participants with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes: have used medications or alternative remedies for weight loss within 3 months prior to screening
