Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- For healthy participants aged 18 and older: normal vision with or without corrective lenses
- For healthy participants aged 18 and older: normal hearing without need for hearing aids
- For epilepsy patients aged 13 and older with thalamic electrodes: normal vision with or without corrective lenses
- For epilepsy patients aged 13 and older with thalamic electrodes: normal hearing without need for hearing aids
- For epilepsy patients aged 18 and older undergoing thalamic stimulation: normal vision with or without corrective lenses
- For epilepsy patients aged 18 and older undergoing thalamic stimulation: normal hearing without need for hearing aids
You will not qualify if you...
- For healthy participants aged 18 and older: past or current psychiatric or neurologic disease
- For healthy participants aged 18 and older: use of hard contact lenses or glasses that prevent accurate eye measurements
- For healthy participants aged 18 and older: pregnancy or presence of nonremovable ferrous metal objects in the body
- For epilepsy patients aged 13 and older with thalamic electrodes: use of hard contact lenses or glasses that prevent accurate eye measurements
- For epilepsy patients aged 13 and older with thalamic electrodes: inability to perform perception tasks due to cognitive impairment
- For epilepsy patients aged 18 and older undergoing thalamic stimulation: inability to perform perception tasks due to cognitive impairment
