Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adolescents aged 12 through 17 years (including those turning 18 during the study)
- Brought to the Emergency Department due to suicidal thoughts or behaviors
- Clinician determines need for higher level care (OCIC or inpatient) with a CHRT-SR score between 15 and 52
- Presence of a legal guardian
- Ability to give signed informed consent/assent and comply with study requirements
You will not qualify if you...
- Adolescents judged to be at serious imminent risk of suicide
- Adolescents needing 24-hour supervision without an available adult outside the hospital
- Adolescents unable to read or answer survey questions
- Non-English speaking adolescents due to surveys only being available in English
