What this Trial Is About

This research aims to understand the causes and clinical outcomes of central nervous system idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating diseases (CNS IIDD) in the Chinese population. It focuses on clarifying the clinical features and factors that affect prognosis for diseases like multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD), and others. The study also investigates how biomarkers relate to disease occurrence, progression, and prognosis to help guide clinical treatment decisions. Participants are diagnosed according to established criteria such as the 2017 McDonald criteria for MS, the 2015 IPND diagnostic panel for NMOSD, and other international expert panel standards for related disorders. They receive diagnosis and treatment plans based on current international and national guidelines or expert consensus, without any additional special interventions. The study groups include those with MS, NMOSD, MOGAD, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), or undefined CNS IIDD. Treatment and clinical management follow recommended practices from diagnosis onward. During participation, patients undergo clinical evaluations, follow-up visits, and management by neuroimmunology specialists. Researchers monitor outcomes such as disease relapse and long-term neurological function over an average of five years. Assessments include neurological function scales, optical coherence tomography of the eyes, immune marker changes, antibody levels, and various evoked potential tests at baseline and regular intervals up to three years. The study aims to provide comprehensive data on disease progression and prognosis with continuous monitoring and follow-up care.
