Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patient has advanced-stage solid cancer diagnosis (ICD-10 code C00-C70) and is receiving or plans to receive cancer treatment
  • Patient has ECOG performance status 2, or ECOG performance status 1 and is over 70 years old
  • Patient wishes to stay at home
  • Patient has a family caregiver living at home
  • Patient wishes to participate in the research
  • Family caregiver is a family member as defined (spouse, descendants, siblings, or relatives up to the eighth degree)
  • Family caregiver either lives with the patient or visits patient's home more than three times a week
  • Family caregiver wants the patient to stay at home
  • Family caregiver can communicate easily with medical staff
  • Family caregiver wishes to participate in the research
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Patient cannot speak, hear, or read Korean
  • Patient is judged by a medical doctor to be unable to participate due to extremely poor health
  • Patient resides outside the visit range of the medical institution (not applicable for control group)
  • Patient has used hospital- or home-type hospice and palliative care services
  • Patient is under 19 years old
  • Family caregiver cannot speak, hear, or read Korean
  • Family caregiver is judged by a medical doctor to be unable to participate due to extremely poor health
  • Family caregiver is under 19 years old
