Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Both the patient and their family caregiver must meet the criteria to be considered for this research.
  • Patient diagnosed with progressive neurological disorders (such as motor neuron disease, Parkinson's disease) as specified by ICD-10 codes.
  • Patient has a modified Rankin Score (mRS) of 3 to 5.
  • Patient wishes to stay at home.
  • Patient has a family caregiver residing at home.
  • Patient wishes to participate in the research.
  • Family caregiver is a family member (spouse, descendants, siblings, or relatives up to the eighth degree).
  • Family caregiver lives with the patient or visits the patient's home more than three times a week.
  • Family caregiver wants the patient to stay at home.
  • Family caregiver can communicate easily with medical staff.
  • Family caregiver wishes to participate in the research.
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Patient or family caregiver cannot speak, hear, or read Korean.
  • Patient or family caregiver is judged by a medical doctor to be unable to take part due to extremely poor health.
  • Patient resides outside the range that can be visited by the medical institution.
  • Patient has used hospital- or home-type hospice and palliative care services.
  • Patient is under 19 years old.
  • Family caregiver is under 19 years old.
