Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age over 18 years and able to give informed consent
- Suspicion or diagnosis of thyroid cancer
- Planned total thyroidectomy or completion thyroidectomy
- Normal calcium levels before surgery
You will not qualify if you...
- Planned simultaneous parathyroid surgery
- Treatment with active vitamin D analogues
- Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) less than 30
