What this Trial Is About
The goal of this interventional study is to evaluate if the novel diagnostic blood test, called Avantect can early detect pancreatic cancer in patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within the last 6 months. Participants will: * attend 3 study visits over 12 months time * provide a blood sample at each study visit * complete an anxiety questionnaire at each visit.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 50 and 84 years at enrollment
- Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within the last 180 days with HbA1c ≥ 48 or 6.5%
- Willing to provide up to 30 mL of blood at each study visit
- Able and eligible to undergo MRI scan or CT scan if MRI is not possible
- Understands the study and agrees to participate by signing informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of type 1 or type 2 diabetes more than 6 months ago
- History of pancreatic cancer, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour, or pancreatitis
- Currently under investigation for pancreatic cancer or pancreatic cyst
- Previous pancreatic surgery (excluding ERCP) or major surgery requiring anesthesia within 3 months
- Any invasive solid or blood cancer within the past 3 years, including recurrence
- Use of oral or systemic steroids within 3 months before initial diabetes diagnosis or HbA1c test
- Blood transfusion within 1 month
- Recipient of a solid organ transplant
- Currently pregnant
- Requires dialysis
