Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Chinese women aged 18 to 65 years
- Clinical diagnosis of episodic migraine with fewer than 15 attacks per month, with or without aura
- First migraine attack occurred before age 45
- Experience two to six migraine attacks per month
- Have at least one migraine symptom: nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, or sensitivity to sound
- Duration of migraine attacks lasting 2 to 72 hours without acute medication or at least 1 hour with medication
- Able to perform Tai Chi exercise at the required level
- Living in Hong Kong
You will not qualify if you...
- Severe migraine attacks causing disability that prevent moderate physical activity
- Secondary headache or other neurological diseases
- More than 5 days per month with non-migraine headaches
- Experience with Tai Chi or other body-mind exercises after migraine diagnosis
- Currently receiving or recently received alternative therapies within 12 weeks
- Pregnant, breastfeeding, or using contraceptives
- Use of migraine preventive medications in the past 12 weeks
- Drug abuse, use of antipsychotic or antidepressant medications, or frequent use of painkillers for other chronic pain in past 12 weeks
- Epilepsy or psychiatric disorders
