Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Chinese women aged 18 to 65 years
  • Clinical diagnosis of episodic migraine with fewer than 15 attacks per month, with or without aura
  • First migraine attack occurred before age 45
  • Experience two to six migraine attacks per month
  • Have at least one migraine symptom: nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, or sensitivity to sound
  • Duration of migraine attacks lasting 2 to 72 hours without acute medication or at least 1 hour with medication
  • Able to perform Tai Chi exercise at the required level
  • Living in Hong Kong
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Severe migraine attacks causing disability that prevent moderate physical activity
  • Secondary headache or other neurological diseases
  • More than 5 days per month with non-migraine headaches
  • Experience with Tai Chi or other body-mind exercises after migraine diagnosis
  • Currently receiving or recently received alternative therapies within 12 weeks
  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, or using contraceptives
  • Use of migraine preventive medications in the past 12 weeks
  • Drug abuse, use of antipsychotic or antidepressant medications, or frequent use of painkillers for other chronic pain in past 12 weeks
  • Epilepsy or psychiatric disorders
