Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients must be younger than 39 years at time of enrollment
- Karnofsky or Lansky performance score of 70 or greater or ECOG performance status of 0-1
- Newly diagnosed histologically or molecularly confirmed soft tissue or bone sarcoma at any site
- Measurable metastatic disease with at least one lesion larger than 3 mm on CT scan within 3 weeks before treatment start
- Radiographic, histologic, or molecular confirmation of progressive soft tissue or bone sarcoma initially diagnosed before age 39 (for second line therapy group)
- Radiation to at least one site recommended as part of second line therapy (for second line therapy group)
You will not qualify if you...
- Brain or intracranial metastases, including leptomeningeal disease
- Clinical or radiologic evidence of spinal cord compression requiring emergency radiation treatment
- Positive bone marrow biopsy for non-pelvic primary with more than eight bone metastases
- Presence of non-measurable metastatic disease such as malignant ascites or malignant pleural or pericardial effusions
- Pregnancy
