Studying How Videos and Games Affect Pain and Anxiety in Boys Aged 6 to 18 During Circumcision With Local Anesthesia

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating how using technological devices like videos or games during circumcision affects pain and anxiety levels in boys aged 6 to 18 undergoing the procedure. The study aims to compare children who watch videos or play games during circumcision with those who do not receive any visual or verbal stimulation. This research is sponsored by Adiyaman University and focuses on the immediate impact on anxiety and worry during the procedure. Children in the study are randomly assigned to one of two groups one group will undergo circumcision while watching videos or playing games, and the other group will have the procedure without any visual or verbal stimulation. The circumcision is performed with local anesthesia. The study starts with hospitalization and continues through to a follow-up check-up after discharge. Participants will be assessed for changes in anxiety and worry immediately after the procedure, both in the children and their parents. The research team will monitor these emotional responses to understand the effect of the technological intervention. The total participation includes the procedure day and a follow-up appointment after the child is discharged from the hospital.
