Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patients with permanent dentition aged 13 to 30 years
  • Maxillary or mandibular crowding greater than 4.1 mm requiring extraction of first premolars
  • Fully erupted teeth from first molar to first molar
  • Periodontally healthy teeth
  • Good general health with no prior tooth extraction or orthodontic treatment
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Need for orthognathic surgery
  • History of systemic or medical illness
  • Contraindications to tooth extraction
  • Previous orthodontic treatment
  • Poor oral hygiene
  • Allergy to nickel
