Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with permanent dentition aged 13 to 30 years
- Maxillary or mandibular crowding greater than 4.1 mm requiring extraction of first premolars
- Fully erupted teeth from first molar to first molar
- Periodontally healthy teeth
- Good general health with no prior tooth extraction or orthodontic treatment
You will not qualify if you...
- Need for orthognathic surgery
- History of systemic or medical illness
- Contraindications to tooth extraction
- Previous orthodontic treatment
- Poor oral hygiene
- Allergy to nickel
