Remote Tele-Savvy Education Program for Latino Caregivers of Alzheimers and Dementia Patients

This research aims to culturally adapt and evaluate the Tele Savvy caregiver education program specifically for Latino caregivers of individuals with Alzheimers disease and related dementias. These caregivers often face high stress and depressive symptoms but are underrepresented in research. The study is a Stage 1b single arm clinical trial focused on improving caregiver mastery skills through this adapted intervention. The Tele Savvy program is delivered remotely over seven weeks and includes weekly ninety-minute group sessions conducted via videoconference. Participants also receive two to three instructional videos each week to watch at their convenience. The program emphasizes developing skills such as caregiving competence, confidence, and stress management tailored for Latino caregivers. Participants will be involved in the seven-week intervention and be assessed before and after the program. The primary outcome measured is the change in caregiver mastery from baseline to three months after completing the intervention. Secondary outcomes include changes in stress levels, caregiver burden, depressive symptoms, self-efficacy in managing dementia, and satisfaction with the program. Caregiver interviews and ongoing participation in sessions are part of the study process.
