What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the effects of different durations of myofascial release therapy on people with plantar fasciitis, a common condition causing heel pain and stiffness. The study aims to compare the outcomes of a 15-minute myofascial release treatment to the more standard 30-minute treatment to determine if shorter sessions are equally effective. Plantar fasciitis involves inflammation and tissue changes in the heel area, leading to pain especially after rest and during weight-bearing activities. The study involves two groups: one receiving 15 minutes and the other 30 minutes of myofascial release therapy on the affected foot. Each group will receive nine specific myofascial release techniques targeting muscles and tissues around the heel and leg, with each technique applied for a set time depending on the group. The treatments will be performed under clinical supervision, focusing on gradual soft tissue stretching guided by patient feedback. Participants will be assessed at the start, immediately after the first session, at four weeks, and four weeks post-treatment. Measurements will include pain intensity in the morning, muscle stiffness, pressure pain threshold, foot function, quality of life, perception of change, and overall foot health. These assessments will help determine the impact of treatment duration on pain relief and functionality, with ongoing monitoring to evaluate lasting effects.
