Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patients 18 years of age or older with biopsy-proven invasive breast cancer
  • Breast cancer that is accessible to a tumor punch biopsy
  • Patients expected to benefit clinically from palliative radiation therapy to the breast or chest wall
  • If possible, systemic therapy will be paused during radiation therapy after discussion with the medical oncologist
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Previous radiation to the treatment area where reirradiation is considered unsafe by the attending physician
  • Pregnancy
  • Current use of blood-thinning medications that increase risk from tumor punch biopsies
  • Receipt of immunotherapy or chemotherapy within 7 days before starting radiation therapy
