Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults (age 18 years old or more).
  • Any sex (male or female), regardless of gender identity.
  • Diagnosis of manifest tetanus according to the WHO criteria, including sustained facial muscle spasms or painful muscular contractions, with or without history of wound or injury.
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Age under 18 years.
  • Absence of manifest tetanus criteria as defined by WHO.
  • Incomplete medical records missing data needed to calculate the Tetanus Severity Score, Philips Score, or Dakar Score.
  • Incomplete medical records missing data on survival to hospital discharge or in-hospital mortality.
