Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Unilateral ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke
  • Stroke occurred within the past 3 months
  • Upper limb muscle strength score of 3 or less on the Medical Research Council Scale
  • No previous stroke, seizure, dementia, Parkinson's disease, or other degenerative neurological diseases
  • Ability to sit for more than 15 minutes
  • Age over 20 years
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Previous stroke, traumatic brain injury, or brain tumor
  • Central nervous system diseases like spinal cord injury or Parkinson's disease
  • Any contraindications to rTMS such as seizures, alcoholism, metal implants, or pacemakers
  • Inability to cooperate with treatment
  • Pregnancy
  • Depression
