Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Suspicion or history of food allergy based on medical history, positive skin prick test, and/or serum food-specific IgE
- Typical allergic symptoms within 60 minutes of eating a food (such as hives, swelling, abdominal pain, vomiting, or breathing problems)
- Ability to stop all antihistamines for 1 week before oral food challenge
- Age between 3 months and 65 years
You will not qualify if you...
- Previous desensitization treatment to a food allergen
- Allergy to any component of the oral challenge vehicle
- Unstable conditions including uncontrolled asthma or chronic urticaria
- Any significant disease or chronic medical condition that may interfere with study evaluations
