Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Solitary kidney stone or combined stones with total size 7 to 20 mm
  • Suitable for flexible ureteroscopy as per American Urological Association guidelines
  • Able to provide informed consent
  • Bilateral ureteroscopy allowed but only first side treated included
  • Surgery performed by trained urological attending surgeons or endourology fellows
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Presence of stones in the ureter
  • Previous surgery or strictures on the same side of the urinary tract
  • History of radiotherapy to abdomen or pelvis
  • Neurogenic bladder or spinal cord injury
  • Pregnancy
  • Untreated urinary tract infection
