Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Women aged 20 to 45 years
- Gestational age between 6 and 12 weeks with ultrasound-confirmed intrauterine single or multiple pregnancy
- Weight loss less than 10% compared to before pregnancy
- Diagnosed with moderate to severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (PUQE score 6 to 15)
- Voluntary signing of informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Age outside 20 to 45 years range
- Gestational age less than 6 weeks or more than 12 weeks
- PUQE score less than 6
- Frequent nausea and vomiting with weight loss over 10% or symptoms such as listlessness, paleness, dry skin, sunken eyes, or very low urine output
- Body temperature over 38 0C, blood pressure outside normal ranges, heart rate 100 beats per minute or higher, or oxygen saturation below 95%
- Urinalysis showing high urine ketones or protein levels
- Blood tests showing low potassium or sodium, abnormal liver function, or kidney dysfunction
- Presence of digestive diseases causing nausea and vomiting like infections, ulcers, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, viral hepatitis, or digestive tract tumors
- Immune diseases such as lupus, scleroderma, dermatomyositis, IgG4-related diseases, or immune nephropathy
- Uncorrected endocrine diseases like diabetes, Addison's disease, thyroid tumors, or adrenal tumors
- Neurological diseases such as migraine, neuromyelitis optica, epilepsy, or neurological tumors
- Use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors
- Use of antiemetic drugs within the past week
- Previous thumbtack needle treatment within the past 3 months
- Unwillingness to sign informed consent
