Tianshan Community Cohort Study for Disease Prevention and Health Promotion in Northwest China Adults

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are conducting a population-based cohort study in northwest China to promote disease prevention and community health. Established in January 2016, this study includes nearly all residents aged 18 years and older registered at community healthcare centers. It aims to gather broad evidence on many diseases by collecting detailed demographic, medical, and environmental data from participants. Participants undergo annual health examinations and take part in structured health education and community health promotion activities. Data are collected from multiple sources including electronic health records, mortality registries, and environmental datasets. Follow-up information comes from chronic disease management programs, hospitals, and local death registration systems. Biological samples and questionnaire data are stored in a Biobank and Big Data Center for research use. During the study, participants provide information on lifestyle, medical history, and undergo physical exams and laboratory tests. Researchers monitor many health outcomes over 20 years, including mortality and a wide range of diseases such as cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, infectious, cancerous, neurological, psychiatric, respiratory, and dermatological conditions. The study continuously collects and updates data from hospitals and health records to understand health trends in the community.
