What this Trial Is About
The TWIST 2.0 Study is a 12-month, 2-arm RCT in adults with recent weight loss. We will examine the efficacy of TRE on weight (Aim 1a) and fat mass (Aim 1b) regain, and describe changes in subjective appetite following a mixed-meal tolerance test (Exploratory).

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults aged 25 to 65 years old
- At least 5% non-surgical weight loss in the last 3 months
- Current BMI between 20.5 and 45 kg/m2
- Own a smartphone or willing to use one for self-monitoring
- Ability to provide signed informed consent and attend screening visit
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Previous or planned bariatric surgery
- History of eating disorder
- Participation in another weight-management research study
- Currently in a weight loss program other than this study
- Using appetite suppressants
- Following intermittent fasting or skipping meals
- Eating window less than 11 hours and 59 minutes per day
- Working overnight shifts more than once a week
- Work involving travel across time zones
- Taking medications affecting body weight or preventing TRE
- Unable or unwilling to provide informed consent
- Unable to participate meaningfully (e.g., uncorrected sight or hearing impairment)
- Unwilling to accept randomization
- Unable to log at least 2 meals into the app for 70% of the run-in period
- Having type 1 or type 2 diabetes or other conditions preventing restricted eating
- Narcolepsy
- Losing more than 2.5 kg during run-in phase
- Non-English speaking (app only available in English)
