Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Diagnosis of oropharyngeal cancer
  • Age 18 years or older
  • Female or male participants; male to female ratio approximately 4 to 1
  • Received radiotherapy treatment in the Department of Radiation Oncology
  • Experiencing snoring and/or breathing difficulties during sleep
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • Missing teeth preventing retention of the oral appliance
  • Taking opioid or anxiolytic medications
  • History of major depression
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • History of stroke
  • Currently using CPAP treatment for sleep apnea
  • Experiencing regular and intense orofacial pain
  • Taking medications for insomnia
  • Excessive use of alcohol or drugs such as cannabis or opioids
