Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Be between 20-65 years of age
- Have sufficient cognitive function to understand the study and complete informed consent
- Diagnosed with alcohol dependence using DSM-IV criteria through a structured interview (M.I.N.I.)
You will not qualify if you...
- Intellectual disabilities
- Bipolar disorder
- Psychosis (schizophrenia)
- Major physical illnesses including brain hemorrhage, brain tumor, myocardial infarction, epilepsy, or seizure history
- Intracorporeal electronic or metal implants such as cardiac pacemaker
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Allergy to headgear or electrode materials
- Trauma or infection to the head
- Intracranial space occupying lesions or history of brain surgery, meningitis, or encephalitis
- Expected to undergo brain or major surgery during the trial period
