Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Newly diagnosed pediatric or adolescent acute lymphoblastic leukemia patient with standard risk
- Age between 1 year and less than 10 years
- White blood cell count at initial diagnosis less than 50,000 per microliter
- No involvement of the testis
- Kidney function with creatinine clearance at least 70 mL/min/1.73 m2 or age-appropriate creatinine levels
- Liver function with direct bilirubin less than 3.0 mg/dL
You will not qualify if you...
- Steroid treatment within 2 weeks before registration
- Presence of specific genetic abnormalities: t(9;22), t(4;11)(q11;q23), chromosome count less than 44, iAMP21, or t(17;19)/TCF3-HLF
- Newly diagnosed T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
- Diagnosis of Down syndrome, Bloom syndrome, ataxia-telangiectasia, Fanconi anemia, Kostmann syndrome, Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, or other bone marrow failure syndromes
- Burkitt leukemia or lymphoma
- Uncontrolled cardiac dysfunction or congenital long QT syndrome
- Inability or refusal to provide written consent
