Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Hospitalized patients with acute kidney injury at admission or who develop acute kidney injury during admission and require invasive coronary angiography
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Stabilized kidney function with unchanged or improving serum creatinine during the 24 hours before enrollment
  • Contraindications to invasive coronary angiography other than acute kidney injury
  • Need for percutaneous coronary intervention that cannot be delayed by 7 days
  • Requirement for renal replacement therapy before or planned after coronary angiography
  • Use of intravascular contrast media within 7 days before or 6 days after coronary angiography
  • Pregnancy, prisoner status, cognitive impairment, age under 18 years
  • Unable or unwilling to provide informed consent
