Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 0 to 25 years old
- Documented diagnosis of sickle cell disease of any genotype
- Hospitalized for a sickle cell disease-related complication such as vaso-occlusive crisis
You will not qualify if you...
- Patient is hemodynamically unstable and unable to undergo consent or study procedures
- Already diagnosed with acute chest syndrome before admission to the inpatient unit
- Point of Care Ultrasound operator not available
