Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients aged between 18 and 80 years, both sexes
- Papillary thyroid carcinoma confirmed by core-needle biopsy or fine-needle aspiration
- Tumor largest diameter 2.0 cm or less
- No clinical or imaging evidence of extrathyroidal extension, lymph node metastasis, or distant metastasis on ultrasound, neck, and chest CT
- Follow-up period of at least 12 months
You will not qualify if you...
- Evidence of aggressive papillary thyroid carcinoma or other thyroid cancer types by biopsy
- History of neck radiation
- Coagulation disorder or serious heart, respiratory, liver, or kidney failure
- Dysfunction of the vocal cord on the opposite side
