The Underlying Mechanisms Regarding the Effect of Glucagon on the Kidneys Will be Investigated in Healthy Males.
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 20 and 60 years
- Normal health confirmed by medical exam and interview
- Normal fasting blood levels of glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, creatinine, liver function, and electrolytes
- Provided informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Use of immunosuppressive treatment within the last 12 months
- History of alcohol abuse
- Taking oral glucocorticoids, DPP-4 inhibitors, or GLP-1 receptor agonists that may affect glucose metabolism
- Use of lithium
- Receiving medical treatments that affect insulin secretion or heart function
- Liver disease with ALT levels more than twice the normal value
- Kidney impairment indicated by creatinine above 130 µM or presence of albumin in urine
