Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Individuals diagnosed with Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia
- Individuals with abnormal PCD diagnostic tests (ciliary biopsy or genetic testing)
- Individuals with unexplained bronchiectasis
- Individuals undergoing PCD diagnostic testing or having clinical symptoms with at least two of the following: neonatal respiratory distress, organ laterality defects, year-round cough starting in the first year of life, year-round nasal congestion starting in the first year of life, multiple ear infections in the first two years with complications, history of recurrent pneumonias
- Ability to provide consent by participant or guardian
- Ability to perform the nasal nitric oxide test
- Age 2 years or older
You will not qualify if you...
- Unable to understand study requirements
- Unwilling to provide consent
- Unable to complete the nasal nitric oxide testing
- Recent sinus surgery within four weeks or recent bloody nose within one week of testing
- Currently treated with antibiotics for sinusitis or respiratory symptoms within one week
- Age younger than 2 years
