Conflicting evidence exist in the literature on the utility of bronchoscopy in patients with haemoptysis and negative/non-diagnostic chest CT scan. Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • 18 years old or older
  • Have haemoptysis of unknown origin
  • Have a negative or non-diagnostic chest CT scan
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Known bleeding lesions of the upper or lower respiratory airways
  • Chest CT scan diagnostic for haemoptysis cause
  • Refusal to sign informed consent
  • Refusal to undergo bronchoscopy
