Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age6518 years
- HIV diagnosis
- On antiretroviral therapy with HIV viral load under 200 within the last year
- Controls must be HIV antibody-negative and age 6518 years
You will not qualify if you...
- Other significant immunosuppressing conditions
- Age under 18 years
- Pregnancy at enrollment
- Contraindication to pneumococcal vaccination
- Severe anemia with last hemoglobin below 8 g/dl
- Known contraindication to non-clinical blood draws
- Potential non-adherence to study procedures as judged by investigator
- Adults unable or impaired to consent
- Incarceration at time of enrollment
