The study aims to recruit 100 current cigarette smokers (50 young adults ages 21-34; 50 older adults ages 35-65) who have tried vaping or are currently vaping (dual users). The study will examine the trajectories in tobacco use (cigarettes and/or ENDS), including the nuanced differences in ENDS use (i.e., detailed device characteristics, user preferences, patterns of use), according to smoker age group.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Male and female cigarette smokers between 21 and 65 years old
- Have tried vaping at least once in the last six months or are currently vaping
- Smoke at least 5 filtered cigarettes per week for the past 12 months
- Not currently in smoking cessation treatment or planning to quit before the study
- Able to attend 3 in-person visits in the Philadelphia area
- Willing to smoke a cigarette in a ventilated lab during visits
- Able to give informed consent and comply with study requirements
- Fluent in English in speaking, writing, and reading
You will not qualify if you...
- Use of nicotine products other than cigarettes or vaping more than 5 times per month
- History of substance abuse (other than nicotine) in the past 12 months or currently receiving treatment
- Drinking more than 25 standard alcoholic drinks per week
- Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy during the study
- Psychiatric disorders that interfere with participation as determined by the investigator
- Serious or unstable medical conditions evaluated case-by-case
- Participation in another research program that could affect safety or study data
- Any condition or medication that compromises safety or study performance
- Significant non-compliance with study protocol as determined by the investigator
