What this Trial Is About
Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a term used to describe the transitional stage that occurs between normal aging and the onset of dementia. Spatial disorientation is often considered a significant indicator for diagnosing dementia. Numerous studies have documented deficits in both the allocentric and egocentric spatial frames of reference, as well as difficulties in transitioning between them, in individuals with MCI. Rapid advances in computing technology have enabled researchers to conduct cognitive training and rehabilitation interventions with the assistance of technology. Therefore, the aim of the study is to use virtual therapeutics to train MCI spatial memory.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- A recognized change in cognition by the patient or caregiver
- Objective impairment in one or more cognitive areas using standard neuropsychological tests
- Independence or slight dependence in daily activities
- No diagnosis of dementia
- No cognitive impairment on the mini-mental state examination
- Age 65 years or older
You will not qualify if you...
- Stroke or transient ischemic attack within 6 months before enrollment
- Presence of aphasia or neglect
- Severe neurological or psychiatric diseases limiting movement
- Physical or functional deficits
- Severe neurological or psychiatric diseases like neoplasms, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington's disease, schizophrenia, addiction, personality or eating disorders
- Psychiatric conditions not treated with medication (such as anxiety-depression or bipolar disorder)
- History of head trauma with loss of consciousness
- Recurrent vertigo
