Study of Visugromab Compared to Placebo for Treating Weight Loss in Adults with Advanced Cancer

Researchers are evaluating a new drug called visugromab in people with cancer-associated cachexia, a condition involving unintended weight loss seen in certain cancers like lung and bowel cancer. The study aims to find out if visugromab helps participants regain weight, improve appetite, and increase their ability to move. The research compares visugromab against a placebo to assess its effects and safety. Participants receive one of several doses of visugromab or a placebo through an intravenous drip every 4 weeks at a hospital or clinic. The study uses a randomized, double-blind design with multiple dose levels of visugromab, including low, medium, and high doses. Treatment continues with regular checkups and assessments. During the trial, participants will undergo tests and evaluations at each visit, including monitoring changes in body weight and appetite over 12 weeks. The study team will also observe any medical problems experienced while taking visugromab. Participation may last several months, with visits every 4 weeks for treatment and safety checks.
