Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age-related bilateral cataract
- Age 21 years or older
- Visual acuity greater than 0.05
- Axial length between 22.0 and 26.0 mm
- Normal medical history and physical exam unless abnormalities are clinically irrelevant
- Written informed consent before surgery
You will not qualify if you...
- Active eye diseases such as chronic severe uveitis, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, or uncontrolled glaucoma
- Other relevant eye diseases including pseudoexfoliation syndrome and intraoperative floppy iris syndrome
- Corneal decompensation or insufficient corneal endothelial cells
- Previous eye surgery or trauma
- Pregnancy or nursing (pregnancy test required for women of reproductive age)
- Corneal astigmatism greater than 1 diopter
- Retinopathies
