Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Clinically diagnosed with gastroptosis
- Meets diagnostic criteria for malnutrition by either weight loss (over 5% in 6 months or over 10% in longer than 6 months) or low BMI (<18.5 kg/m² if under 70 years old; <20 kg/m² if 70 or older)
- Male participants aged 18 years or older, or female participants aged 18 years or older who are not pregnant or lactating
- Willing to sign informed consent and agree to regular follow-up and monitoring after treatment
You will not qualify if you...
- Severe depression, anxiety, or cognitive impairment affecting communication and treatment planning
- Poor compliance preventing acceptance of treatment like nasogastric enteral nutrition
- Expected survival time less than 3 months
- Significant cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure (NYHA Class III-IV), unstable coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, recent heart attack, or unstable vital signs
- Poor lung function that impacts treatment, including acute COPD exacerbation or need for long-term oral/intravenous corticosteroids (excluding inhaled corticosteroids)
- Active severe infections including intestinal fungal, viral, or tuberculosis infections
- Unable or contraindicated to intestinal tube placement
- Use of medications affecting gut microbiota within 48 hours before enrollment
- Lack of legal capacity or restricted legal capacity
- Hematologic disorders unsuitable for blood draws
- Other severe medical conditions that investigators judge as preventing enrollment
